We are so excited to be back at it, making music together. During the first week of school, we will go over the Choir Handbook, classroom procedures and expectations, appropriate use of technology, and choir culture.
Choir fees this coming year (2023-2024) will be $40. This increase is due to an increase in the cost of choir shirts and other necessities. This pays for a portion of their binder, winter concert music, choir shirt (new logo design!), and honor choir audition fee. On the front of the envelope, please include your student's name and grade level, what the money is for ("choir fee"), and the amount ($40). Checks can be made out to the Brighton Choir Boosters. Choir fee money is due on or before the August 28th Booster meeting.
ALL-WEST HONOR CHOIR: Music will be available for purchase during the first few weeks of school. Auditions are traditionally the last weekend of October. The honor clinic takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving break.
We have a very limited number of leftover shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants from last year. If you would like one, please contact your director.
Our next parent meeting will be for ALL choir parents on August 28th at 6:00pm in the HS choir hall.
For information on future or past meetings, please visit the "Boosters" tab above. Meeting minutes and power points are located on that page.
To stay connected, please join our class remind. (Codes can be found on your choir interest form.) Contact your director by email if you need the code.
RELATED ARTS TAB: Encore is a related arts class that focuses on creative expression and arts exploration. We do this primarily through art, poetry and creative writing, music, and creative movement. Students in this related arts class are graded Pass/Fail in 3 elements: 1) Did you follow instructions, 2) Did you finish, and 3) Did you do your best? A student's skill level in the art form is not assessed in this class, only their skill level in the 3 categories listed above. Students are charged with having an open mind and being willing to work hard at trying new things.
Students will have the opportunity to explore many different artistic projects, and will do one research project during the class term. Details will be given at the time of the assignment.
Students not meeting class expectations will be subject to a conference with their teacher and an administrator. Continued refusal to comply will be referred to the office for discipline.
